ONE FLOWER DIFFERENT NAMES

'Jasmine' is called by several names around the world. In India alone, with several languages & cultures, this flower is called by several names like 'mogra' , 'chameli', 'beli', 'mallige' & in sanskrit called 'Mallika'. A very divine flower. Always adorns the place of worship & Indian women's beautiful hair. Sometimes I wonder with so many varieties of the same family, how would have GOD managed to create all of them. Thankyou God for this symbol of purity!!!!

Top Tropicals shows a variety of this flower. All different but still beautiful.

MANGALURU MALLIGE

Of all the 'mallige', my personal favorite is mangaluru mallige. It looks awesome on women & has a mind blowing fragrance. In mangalore they use the banana fiber to tie these beautiful flowers in a string. The worst part is, it gets dried faster & withers away along with the fiber used to tie them. There is no event without these flowers in mangalore, be it an auspicious occasion, function& place of worship. Mostly adorns the beautiful plaits of Mangalorean women.
